Job Description
211 is available 247 to meet health and human service needs, through information and referrals, benefits navigation, disaster response, and other special projects that provide direct assistance. The 211 Contact Specialist will deliver high quality, professional information and referral services to vulnerable individuals who have health and human services needs. You will help each contact identify their health and human service needs and provide them the appropriate referral or resource using multiple programs and databases for those searches, information collection and application assistance. You will also be an active participant in keeping resource database updated with accurate information about community resources. The nature of calls vary so must be comfortable assisting members of the community with very sensitive situations. Extended hours may be needed in times of disaster in any county served. Training will be done on-site at the Camarillo office for one month, after which you will be required to work on-site 2 days a week. Flexibility of in office days will be considered if notified ahead of time. Laptops and equipment will be provided during training and on the days you are working in office. While working remotely, you will need your own laptop or desktop computer, headphones with a microphone and a reliable internet connection. While we understand that flexibility is one of the many benefits to a hybrid remote role, we do require employees to maintain a consistent work schedule and be available and responsive during your scheduled hours. While working remotely, you will need to stay mindful of your performance and productivity as managers will conduct regular assessments of performance to ensure that you are meeting expectations. To promote productivity and efficiency while working remotely, employees must have a dedicated, quiet work space free of outside disruptions and other background noise. Skills Required
HS Diploma or GED. Bilingual in Spanish. 2+ yrs of customer service or call center exp. Strong communication skills. Comfortable handling sensitive calls.
Skills Preferred
Exp in the healthcare, social services or mental health industry a plus!
