Job Description
Establish facility policiesprocedures for ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements. Develop, administer, coordinate and implement facility health and safety activities, inspections, and auditing to improve the health and safety of employees. Anticipate, recognize, evaluate and control occupational injury or disease conditions and environmental hazards. Work with team members and management to set HSE goals and objectives that foster continuous improvement. Conduct job hazard assessments and floor reviews to ensure machine guarding, ergonomics, LOTO, radiation, laser and other programs and or processes are OSHA compliant and protect team members. Assist senior management in regulatory interfacing, licensing, inspections, citations, and litigation. Manage Workers Compensation, OSHA recordkeeping and Modified Duty programs. Collect data and prepare environmental, health and safety reports, such as air emissions, hazard waste, storm water, tier II and accidentincident. Manage HSE audits, pyrotechnic hazards analysis, process safety management, front-end process engineering risk assessment, operational review of new processes and oversight over potential HSE issues. Oversee industrial hygiene activities including but not limited to noise, hazardous material sampling, Safety Data Sheet SDS review and PPE assessments, etc. Ensure EPA compliance and provides oversite to Environmental Management System to minimize risk to the environment and community. Conduct incident investigations and interface with regulatory agencies. Develop customized safety communications e.g., Newsletters, Safety Alerts, etc.. Maintain and analyze HSE data to identify risk and maintain visual safety management programs current. Provide technical expertise, training, and resources to customers, associates, legal, engineering and management.
Skills Required
10 years health and safety experience in manufacturing. Explosives and Process Safety Management experience strongly preferred andor safety experience not just the environmental side. PSM Project Safety Management skills.
Skills Preferred
Bachelors or Masters degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, andor related field preferred. Certified Safety Professional CSP andor Certified Industrial Hygiene CIH strongly preferred.
