Job Description
This role is responsible for all aspects of the purchasing function for an established hardline retailer. Develops, implements, controls and adjusts the global sourcing strategy to successfully implement the companys initiatives. Develop and implement a comprehensive and detailed global sourcing strategy based on business forecast, sales needs, and historical usage. Maintain process and procedures to prequalify potential suppliers. Ensure competitive vendor selection process is conducted fairly and sourcing decisions are approved and documented with clear explanations of decision rationale. Negotiate supplier agreements to meet quality and service levels. Continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the sourcing initiative by analyzing historical data and improving policies and processes. Demonstrate ongoing improvements in cost and quality of the products procured. Monitor supplier performance to ensure that acceptable service levels are maintained. Implement and apply performance review and scorecard for all suppliers. Ensure compliance with all applicable trade and customs regulations. Perform routine supplier visits and, on occasion, take trips at short notice to troubleshoot issues. Handle other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the management team to identify, manage, and oversee supplier relationships over multiple product lines. Manages the day to day operations of the purchasing department. Coordinate new product development program. Manage inbound logistics relationships. Manage international buying QA team factory visitsinspections. Manages budget and controls expenses effectively. Coordinate with other functional departments to improve operations and achieve company goals Supervises and coordinates the activities of staff in multiple countries.
Skills Required
BA Degree. 10 yrs of global procurement exp in an industrial setting. A track record of managing complex international sourcing projects. Familiarity with customs regulatory compliance. Proficient in MS Office applications.
Skills Preferred
Degree in Supply Chain Management, Economics, Business Administration, or Materials Engineering is preferred. Navision and Access experience very desirable. Culturaknowledge and fluency in one or more Asian language is desired, Mandarin a plus.
