| Job Description The Cost Accountant monitors the companys cost and created reports for budgetary, pricing and cost analysis proposed by analyzing and tracking spending, changes in inventory costs, and the accuracy and compliance of cost records. Analyze Material, Labor, Manufacturing Overhead and Outside Processing Variances in a standard costing system, including root cause analysis. Responsible for the integrity of the data within the item master as it relates to part setup, manufacturing BoM changes, standard rates, cost rollups, GL accounts and product costing for all new and existing products. Perform monthly closing activities including analysis of inventory related accounts and journal entries. Evaluate inventory trends and develop reports which highlight and communicate significant changes. Monitor inventory accuracy for adherence to inventory controls. Calculate and book required inventory reserves such as Excess and Obsolete inventory. Lead annual physical inventories. Analyze gross margin results, correct anomalies, identify trends, and communicate findings. Evaluate Purchase Price Variances in conjunction with the purchasing department and identify root cause and financial impact. Assist with month end balance sheet reconciliations. Assist as a financial resource to operational and management team on company projects. Maintain robust controls including account reconciliations and DOAApprovals. Partner with Operations, Process Engineering, Purchasing CAD and BoM departments to secure accurate standards. Manage analysis of utilization, efficiency and productivity metrics. Lead regular variance reviews with other stakeholders to determine root causes of variances and remediation. Other duties as assigned. | |
| Skills Required BS Degree in Accounting. 5+ yrs exp as a Cost Accountant in a manufacturing environment. Proficient in Excel and ERP systems. Knowledge of Standard Cost systems including manufacturing variance analysis. | |
