| Job Description The K-9 HandlerSecurity Officer is a specialty position requiring the ability to combine security and safety knowledge with the handling of a highly trained canine to accomplish the security mission for the hospital. The position is highly visible with officer and canine to establish a deterrent to criminal activity and anti-social behavior of persons while on the hospital premises. The K-9 HandlerSecurity Officer must be able to handle his assigned canine in all circumstances and use the position not only as a deterrent but also as a positive role in fostering good community relations. The K-9 HandlerSecurity Officer will assume the lead person on the day and evening shifts in the absence of the Senior Security Officer and Security Manager. The K-9 HandlerSecurity Officer will also be responsible for the performance of all major duties of a regular Security Officer. Role is also eligible for K9 Handler for the care of the canine during off-hours. Amount is subject to OT and usual federalstate taxes. The main requirement is the ability to house a large breed dog. Besides housing the canine, the other requirements include feeding, grooming, transporting, caring, exercising, training, etc. | |
| Skills Required Private Property Security Officer License. Valid CA Drivers License. Heartsaver CPR AED Certification. Able to house, care and train large breed dog. Able to identify suspicious circumstances, keep records and make factual reports. | |
| Skills Preferred Role is eligible for K9 Handler pay for the care of the canine off hours. | |
