| Job Description Join a stable team offering growth opportunities in the near term. You will be responsible for the various areas of insurance accounting, which includes basic understanding of direct, assumed, and ceded accounting in accordance with GAAP and STAT reporting. Additionally, the position requires trial balance analysis, production reports, preparing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and monthly internal reporting. Ability to create reports for various analysis is critical. Contribute to month-end close performed by our accountingfinance team within the first 5 days of the month. Responsibilities will include analyzing data, compiling financial information, and preparing journal entries to record activity into the general ledger. After the month-end close, prepare various balance sheet account reconciliations. In addition to the above, gain extensive knowledge and understanding of different areas of financial reporting such as direct, assumed, and ceded premium and loss accounting. Assist in preparing various internal and external reports. As knowledge is gained, additional projects will be assigned for development and growth | |
| Skills Required BA Degree in Accounting or Business. 5+ yrs progressive exp in accounting or finance. Knowledge of GAAP Accounting. Able to create reports with taxes, budgets, cash flow, balance sheets and profit and loss statements. | |
| Skills Preferred CPA accountingaudit experience or insurance industry exp. Insurance industry exp. Exp with internal systems like PeopleSoft, GSA, and Excel-based subledger helpful. Big 4 exp. | |
