Technician works with the staff and doctors to keep the office running smoothly and efficiently. This includes handling calls, scheduling exams, medical and vision testing with the use of instrumentation, checking patients in and out, handling patient financial matters, computer data entry, verifying insurance, updating contact information at each visit, and directingcontrolling patient traffic and communicating with patients, doctor offices and pharmacies. This description is to be used as a template and is not intended to be a complete list of dutiesfunctions. Dutiesfunctions will be deleted and added to maintain the best care for the patient.1. Provide exceptional patient care clinically by creating a patient service experience that is phenomenal for each and every patient in line with the offices established values, culture and mission.2. Handle calls to the practice from new and existing patients, referring offices, and outside vendors.3. Greet patients within their first five steps into the office and provide excellent patient care check patients in and out.4. Greet and direct business associates and others who visit the office and direct them accordingly.5. Schedule patient appointments actively work to reschedule as openings are established.6. Communicate with patients to confirm appointments one-day ahead of time and also five weeks prior to their annual appointment 7. Be able to perform auxiliary pre-testing as needed to maintain office flow.8. Perform simple bookkeeping such as collecting all patient balances and co-pays and post accurately.9. Verify insurance information provided by patients and entered correctly.10. Assure waiting and office area is clean, neat, and organized.11. Administrative duties for this position include faxing, copying, making any and all phone calls needed for patient care, preparing patients medical records, scanning, and entering extensive patient data in the office computer.SECONDARY FUNCTIONS1.
