Job Description
Our Staff Attorney is a proactive and innovative individual whose main responsibilities include participating, managing, and implementing our legal functions. The work of the Staff Attorney is largely driven by providing support to General Counsel on commercial contracts, employment law, compliance, and providing legal research and counsel. Working closely under the direction of the General Counsel, the Staff Attorney supports companys commitment to ensuring an equitable and safe workplace culture that creates a welcoming and supportive environment for all staff. Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations nationally and internationally at the direction of the General Counsel. Providing employment and labor law research and advice to General Counsel and Human Resources. Reviewing contracts and legal documents associated with clients. Drafting and reviewing corporate contracts, in-kind contracts, real estate leases, employment and consultant agreements, marketing agreements, tech services and systems agreements and all other vendor or licensing agreements. Coordinating, managing, and delivering timely responses and advice to inquiries from staff and management. Collaborating on updates to the Employee Handbook and other Human Resources matters. Monitoring legal standards and requirements for real estateproperty management industry and ensuring organization is in line with best practice. Working with outside counsel. Maintaining an electronic contract management system for the organization including utilizing DocuSign and Contracts Management software implement strategies for streamlining contract management.
Skills Required
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school. Member of California Bar. 2+ years minimum work experience as an Associate with a law firm andor as in-house counsel. Exp with transactional law and retail leasing.
Skills Preferred
MBA a plus.Experience in property management or real estate industry law a plus.
