|EHSFacilities Technician needed in Camarillo|
Will be responsible for assisting the safety and hazardous waste management of all activities at company and supporting Facilities in maintaining daily operational functions. Maintain safety equipment, including eyewash stations, showers, fire extinguishers, etc.Inspect hazardous waste storage areas weekly in compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations. Coordinate pickup and disposal of all hazardous wastes, as needed. Perform daily safety building walk-throughs. Inspect safety equipment and emergency equipmentsupplies monthly. Stock and inventory of safety consumables. Perform Hazard Assessments of all job duties performed at company. Coordinate the development and distribution of Safe-Operating-Procedures for all equipment. Properly receive and label all incoming chemicals. Inventory chemicals on-hand and maintains current chemical inventory in compliance with regulations.Bar-coding responsibility. Coordinate companys industrial hygienemedical monitoring program e.g., radiation dosimetry, PFTs, fume hood testing, audiometric monitoring, chemical emissions monitoring, etc.. Ensure personal protective equipment PPE is appropriate and available to applicable employees. Perform respirator fit-tests and assist with the administration of companys respiratory protection program. Carry out duties, as directed by the supervisor, to ensure company complies with various regulatory agencies e.g., Prop 65 list and warnings, quarterly APCD emission summary, hazardous waste database maintenance and summary, HazMat Business Plan updates, HazWaste questionnaire, etc.. Schedule needed trainingretraining for new hires, employees, ERT members, etc. Member of the companys Emergency Response Team. Assist Facilities in Receiving of purchased items, as needed. Assist Facilities in maintaining gas inventory and replacing cylinders within the building, as needed. Assist Facilities in cardboard and glass disposal, as needed. Assist Facilities to ensure that the Receiving, forklift
HS Diploma or GED. 2+ years exp in HazMat handling operations and knowledge of current applicable regulations. Knowledge of basic Chemistry. Ability to work in a team environment.
College certificate in Environmental Technology, HazMat Management, or college-level chemistry is a plus. OHST, CHMM, andor current First AidCPR certification is a plus. 40-hour HazWOPER certification preferred. Forklift exp a plus.
